This project, which won an Award of Excellence in the tops under 27’ category of the 2008 MFA Awards, features the Custom Covers Folding Canopy Top (FCT) that is directly mounted to the tower. It has a unique design as requested by the customer. The purpose of the FCT is to provide shade in an innovative design with minimal framework that is easy to use. It is mounted directly to the tower to avoid the clutter of extra framework and straps of a traditional bimini. Everything about this project is custom to this boat. The custom-made clamps are adjusted to fit snugly, the frame is bent according to precise calculations and the design was hand crafted. The spider was particularly difficult to heat cut because of the small curves of the body and legs. The spider matches the name and design of the boat.
