Phifer Incorporated’s line of Designed Fabrics outdoor furniture fabric has attained GREENGUARD Select certification from the GREENGUARD Environmental Institute (GEI).

The new GREENGUARD Select program meets the latest in scientific and market requirements for VOC and formaldehyde emissions, including compliance with the 2012 updates to the California section CA 01350 emissions standard. The Select certification designates emissions performance based on modeling to specific indoor environments where the product will be used, such as commercial, health care, educational and residential. GREENGUARD Select Certified products must also meet lead and phthalate content requirements as defined by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Information Act.

Designed Fabrics are 100 percent recyclable GeoBella® Cushion Fabrics and slingable Phifertex Outdoor Fabrics. The collection comes in an array of colors and woven designs in dobbies, wicker weaves, stripes and jacquards. Phifertex performance fabrics are also used for awnings, umbrellas and pillows. Designed Fabrics do not absorb water and dry quickly, making them resistant to mold and mildew growth. They are fade resistant and stain resistant.

Phifer’s Designed Fabrics collection also meets the GREENGUARD Children and Schools standards for commercial use.

All products certified by GEI undergo quarterly tests and annual recertification. GEI is a third party, nonprofit organization founded to create healthier indoor environments.
