Cruiser cover with maximum ventilation
Outstanding Achievement Award | Riverside Covers | Fort Myers, Fla.
This project won a 2013 MFA Outstanding Achievement Award in the tops and enclosures under 30 feet category. The boat owners recently purchased a small cruiser that had a fairly new, ill-fitting navy top with no enclosure. We fabricated a new navy top and enclosure using Linen Sunbrella Supreme, and 40 gauge sheet vinyl. The top included a small center roll-up section with flaps over the zippers, and new stainless steel grab bars for safety.
The enclosure was designed with two large u-zips for maximum ventilation without removing the entire enclosure. Along with the clear vinyl panels, we fabricated mesh side panels to give some sun protection while cruising or staying on board.
At the estimate, I discovered that I was the fifth shop that the customers had talked to about this job, and the first to bring any samples.
