Versatile settee for dining, relaxing in catamaran
Outstanding Achievement Award | David’s Custom Trimmers | Brisbane, Australia
This project won a 2013 MFA Outstanding Achievement Award in the interior upholstery category. This project included a curved settee for a catamaran that also functions as a dining area. The settee had to offer the best comfort and support, as the owners live aboard.
The customers wanted the settee to be very comfortable for both lounging and dining. They wanted it neat with no gaps.
The foam used has different densities so the settee can be comfortable when reclining, but also firm when sitting upright in the dining area. The top roll, lumbar support and the knee roll were all profile cut. Enduro foam was used because it has a 10-year warranty.
The owners were ecstatic with the finished result, and at least three people who they showed the settee to have also booked us in for similar work.
