‘Boatgating’ is the newest rage

It’s already a popular way to watch fireworks. And San Francisco Giants baseball fans have become adept at retrieve home-run balls from the Bay.

Now parking the boat outside the stadium before (or during) the big game is becoming a ritual around the country.

Discover Boating reports that “boatgating—aka stern-gating or sailgating—is becoming a preferred way to prepare for (and unwind after) the game—a waterborne take on the time—honored and growing tradition of tailgating.

Among the sites offered as among the best for boatgating are EverBank Field in Jacksonville, Fla.; Citi Field in New York City; Seattle’s Husky Stadium, and Soldier Field in Chicago, not to mention San Francisco’s AT&T Park.
