The Larson Boat Group has announced plans to consolidate its Little Falls, Minn., facility with its larger Pulaski, Wis., plant. The Little Falls plant manufactures the boating lines Larson, Larson FX, Larson Escape, Striper and Triumph.

President and chief executive of Larson Boat Group Rob Parmentier released a statement indicating that “after months of analysis, financial review and personal agony” the decision was made to cease operations in Little Falls in early 2017.

Parmentier stated that “external, global economic influences” and shifts in the marine market were factors in the decision. The Little Falls facility employs 141 people. The company will discontinue the Triumph line of boats, and the remaining brands will be manufactured in Wisconsin. Current employees will be offered job in the Pulaski facility.

“We are (also) currently discussing the sale of the property with a large multi-national manufacturer that very much could offer our employees jobs,” he stated. That potential manufacturer was not named in the release.

Larson Boat Group, founded by Paul Larson, has been operating out of Little Falls for 103 years. The boat manufacturing company designs, builds and markets 59 models of runabouts, express cruisers, pontoons and freshwater and saltwater boats.

The company acquired a location in Pulaski, Wis., in 1991. The Wisconsin location has 324 employees.
