This project, which won an Award of Excellence in the unique and different category of the 2008 MFA Awards, was coordinated by the boat builder and the canvas shop. It consisted of a traditional aft frame, but with moveable frames so the captain could pull on a cord and the frames would tilt up to allow him to watch the angler when a fish was on. The two adjustable fabric panels have variable tilt capabilities to adjust for sunshade, yet still allow the captain to watch the angler. The owner of the boat wanted a clean, white look on the top and bottom of the panels which was accomplished by using the new anodized aluminum tube that allowed us to staple fabric on the top and bottom to give a clean frameless effect. The design was an extreme challenge. We were brought in when the captain was told his request could not be accomplished.
