Cockpit cover features removable side wings

This project, which won an Outstanding Achievement Award in the cockpit cover category of the 2009 MFA Awards, included a cockpit cover with removable side wings with cutouts for lines split open for ease of handling dock lines. The customer wanted a better functioning cover with the ability to easily remove sides. Overhead fasteners were replaced with PVC track and zipper release welt. The customer wanted to break up the boring white color scheme of canvas. Charcoal grey was chosen to better hide dirt and bird deposits. Upper station seat covers were made in same color. The customer can now install and remove cover with less hassle, and he loves the color. Sharps is looking to build new enclosure in same color fabric.
