This project, which won an Outstanding Achievement Award in the full exterior canvas powerboat 27’ and up category of the 2008 MFA Awards, required a full upper enclosure, including framework. The bimini was made from Sunbrella Supreme, with 40-gauge Strataglass for the windows. Cabin windows were fitted with covers made from matching Sunbrella Shade. Full forward rail covers, aft rail skirts and a windlass cover completed this job. One major challenge was designing the framework to fit the lines of the boat. Beyond Canvas Inc. settled on a split mount, six-bow design with 6-foot 3-inch headroom. The forward bow was set with the customer to provide proper rake for the windshield. The aft bow is set behind the radar mast, requiring a slit in the bimini top.
