Bimini and rear tops create functional and stylish covering

This project, which won an Outstanding Achievement Award in the full exterior canvas powerboat 27’ and up category of the 2008 MFA Awards, included a bimini top and a rear top with complete enclosures, creating a functional and stylish covering over the cockpit and rear seating area. The bimini top, rear top and enclosures are attached to the radar arch using Flex-a-rail. Afton Marina & Yacht Club fabricated a nontraditional horizontal rear frame so not to have any frame obstructions behind the rear seating area. The rear frame was designed to have no vertical supports and incorporated a “double crown” that matched the curvature of the radar arch.
