This project, which won an Outstanding Achievement Award in the exterior upholstery category of the 2009 MFA Awards, involved the creation of seats and throw cushions, covering the dash and providing crash pads to replicate the original interior on a 1948 19-foot Chris Craft. The front seat has seat bottom of vinyl and Sunbrella, and loose cushions to replicate the look of the original upholstery. The crash pads had to be a single piece of vinyl, heated and stretched to wrap around the dash, then hydem was put over the top edge and welt on bottom edge. The dash was padded and covered with vinyl. Making all the cushions fit perfectly and getting the vinyl stretched around the crash padding was complex.
