Non-skid bimini mounting foot

Position bimini frames easily and safely on boats with no hardware.

Problem

Positioning a new bimini frame on a boat without existing hardware can be difficult and dangerous, particularly when working by yourself or with a large, heavy frame.

Solution

Make simple, non-skid, non-marking “feet” that you can attach quickly and easily to the bimini frame legs while you position it on the boat.

The device is especially helpful when mounting a frame with very specific parameters, such as when you need to match to existing framework or arch, or store in an exact location. The non-slip foot prevents the frame from sliding and protects the boat from possible damage.

Process

> Cut two bases out of 1-by-4-inch lumber or 3/4-inch plywood or plastic, approximately 4 inches by 12 inches.

> Staple non-slip shelf liner, found at a home improvement or dollar store, to one side of each base.

> Mount deck mount and quick-release pin (used or odd-ball size is OK). Make sure that screws do not go through the back side.

> Mount non-skid foot to bimini frame eye ends.
