The client for this project, which won an Outstanding Achievement Award in the state room upholstery category of the 2008 MFA Awards, wanted clothing storage bags attached to the wall of the state room, and a comforter and pillows. When making the bags, there was an angle on every side, including front to back, side to side and top to bottom. For the bag compartments, The Nautical Needle used PVC board that inserted in the top, bottom and center of the bags to add support and rigidity. The zippered closures can open or close from either direction, including top and bottom. The comforter was quilted, along with the two large pillows. Two small pillows were left with no foam inside for additional storage.
