211 Liberator gets a facelift
Award of Distinction | Canvas Innovations | Holland, Mich.
This project won a 2013 MFA Award of Distinction in the exterior upholstery category. For this project, the customer wanted the new upholstery to be different than the standard Four Winns boat because he was tired of everyone comparing his Liberator to everyone else’s. The customer had some designs in mind and we put it together.
We took the graphic from the side of the boat and enlarged it. We then hand cut the 211 and sewed it into the sundeck. The color scheme complements the exterior and carries throughout the exterior. A gray hammered vinyl sets off the smooth vinyl.
Since the boat is an older model there was a lot of extra work with rusted bolts and t-nuts. We replaced some rotten wood. Refitting and reinstalling was challenging, but it all came together nicely.
The result is a “show piece” that the customer had hoped for. The custom 211 Liberator label on the sundeck adds the extra flash the customer required.
