Redesigning and restoring on request

When Jeri, Jim and Joe Perillo of Custom Canvas of Charleston first saw this older model Carver yacht it had a crooked frame that was on backwards with a blue tarp tied on top. The owner spent a lot of time on the bridge enjoying the views and asked to have the boat restored to its original state based on some photos of the boat’s enclosure—with a few changes to the design.

Changes included having the bimini extend further forward than the original for more shade and having the fabric come up higher on the back half of the enclosure because the bridge had seats that rubbed against the vinyl. Jeri and her team installed fabric instead. The look of the enclosure was updated using Smoke Sunbrella® to complement the boat’s lines and original design.

Perhaps the most significant “walk-in” for Custom Canvas of Charleston happened seven years ago when an established marine customer brought his kayak in to have a cover made.
