Spot trends by being attentive

Ever wonder if you’re being heard? John Pierce, product manager at WeatherMax, spots trends by being attentive. “We travel extensively and that pays dividends in two primary ways: You get to see the local canvas installations and you get one-on-one time with the fabricators who are very good at sharing their wants and needs. Direct feedback from end product manufacturers is imperative. The best bets are placed on words spoken from the horse’s mouth.”

And how do you figure out if a new fabric is the right one for you and your customers? Answers Anne Niquette: “We belong to the North East Canvas Products Association, the MFA, and IFAI. Any time you have a question, members are very willing to help and offer their opinions. We also talk with the sales reps. A knowledgeable rep is able to let you know how other fabricators are using the material and if there are any issues you should be aware of.”
