This project, which won an Award of Excellence in the rigid enclosures category of the 2008 MFA Awards, consists of a rigid, three-sided forward enclosure with three inserted Seaview panels with windshield wipers. The aft panels were made with soft Regalite 40-gauge clear vinyl and Stamoid borders. We had to develop a four-sided enclosure design, which allowed for the placement of windshield wipers in the forward three enclosure panels. The owner also desired to be able to open up the aft section on a nice day. The flybridge was air conditioned, so the insulating aspects of a rigid enclosure, verses a soft enclosure, were incorporated into the design. The severe angle and corner transitions made it challenging to get the fit correct. Inserting plumbing and electrical connections for the Seaview inserts was an added challenge.
