Bulletproof frame and cover offer winter protection
Als Auto Trim & Upholstery, Erie, Pa.
This project, which won an Outstanding Achievement Award in the full covers 27’ and up category of the 2008 MFA Awards, required a frame and cover for a powerboat. This customer spends his winters in warmer climates so he isn’t around to check on his boat. He requested a bulletproof frame and cover. A 32-foot powerboat with a flybridge requires a very large frame and cover. Als Auto Trim & Upholstery broke the cover into five pieces so it would be easy to handle on both the sewing table and the boat. The sections were zippered together with Velcro flaps. The cover is well ventilated with a large zippered doorway.
