Inverted dodger design allows custom platform for electronics
Banner Canvas, Ham Lake, Minn.
This project, which won an Outstanding Achievement Award in the dodger category of the 2008 MFA Awards, involved a 33-inch dodger companionway. The inverted thin wall steel design allows the winch lines to cut through, rather than travel through fabric. The inverted design had to allow electronics to mount on the inside with a custom designed platform. The fabric is attached by zip pockets, and allowed to fold forward while in place. Flex-a-rail attached to front to allow pull to the rear. Xtreme Seal applied on sides to prevent water entry. Quick release tension straps on either side to fold dodger forward to allow maximum visibility, all in a 33-inch wide space.
