Paneled enclosure minimizes vertical zipper lines
Costa Marine Canvas and Enclosure, Egg Harbor City, N.J.
The customer for this project, which won an Outstanding Achievement Award in the rigid enclosures category of the 2009 MFA Awards, wanted a rigid enclosure for flybridge on an 82-foot Viking. The front center panel needed to open, and air vents needed to be installed at top of the front panels. Border widths and seam placements were important. The size of the enclosure required special handling and added time. Costa Marine Canvas and Enclosure decided to break into five panels to minimize vertical zipper lines. The front center panel was enlarged to match the size of the windshield. Costa added four vertical zipper lines, plus a small border on aft edge of sides. As tge top border fades into the corner, Costa narrowed the border to provide a cleaner look.
