Skin top appears as hardtop
The Nautical Needle, Holland, Mich.
This project, which won an Award of Excellence in the rigid enclosures category of the 2009 MFA Awards, included a skin top that needed to appear as a hardtop. The enclosure has seven panels (three with vents installed at the top). It also has five aft drop panels. The customer wanted a tight, clean look. The front and sides needed to be free of fasteners so The Nautical Needle installed track for that “seamless look.” The front and sides were designed with track-to-track application. The rear drop required a custom fit around the tower supports. The rear drop was secured with fasteners. The enclosure came together nicely.
