Scholarship applications now open

The Industrial Fabrics Foundation’s 2013 scholarship program—including one dedicated to studies in marine fabrication—is now accepting applications. To qualify for the MFA Member Scholarship award, applicants must be employed by or related to an employee of a Marine Fabricators Association member company. The deadline for application is May 17, 2013.

Foundation scholarships provide access to education for industry employees, their family members, and future employees. Donations from individuals, corporations, and other organizations support the foundation and its scholarship program. Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic achievement, community service, and interest in a future career in the marine industry.

The $2,000 marine-fabrication scholarship provides tuition expenses at an accredited college, university, or technical school. The scholarship will apply to the 2013-14 academic year and will be paid directly to the student’s school for fall semester tuition.

Scholarship applications and three reference letters must be received on or before May 17, 2013. Reference letters should comment on the applicant’s character and potential for leadership and/or for making a significant contribution as a future employee.
