T-top cover capable of withstanding high winds
Mikes Marine Custom Canvas, Virginia Beach, Va.
This project, which won an Outstanding Achievement Award in the full covers under 27 feet category of the 2009 MFA Awards, involved a full t-top cover that attaches with a track at the top, snaps at the rubrail underneath, and quick release buckles and straps at the stern. The cover is two pieces, with zippers at the midway point, plus a door zip in the aft wall for access from the swim platform. The cover is capable of withstanding high winds, and can actually be trailered, yet it is lightweight and easy to install. The cover was a challenge to build due to the large size and curved top attachment. The owner wanted as few fasteners showing as possible.
