Upcoming Marine Marketers of America presentation
Marine Marketers of America will present “The Great Media Debate: Where to Put Your Ad Dollars Now,” during its annual general members meeting on Feb. 11 at 1:30 p.m. during the Miami International Boat Show.
Two senior publishing professionals will headline the presentation: Peter Janssen, editorial director of MotorBoating magazine and former publisher of Motor Boating & Sailing, and James Causey, vice president of Dominion Media, a division of Dominion Enterprises, which reaches 34 million consumers monthly and includes Soundings, Yachtworld, Passagemaker and Boats.com.
Moderated by MMA program producer and board member Michael Sciulla, panel participants will debate the latest electronic, online and social media alternatives and if there is any life left in print.
“Let’s face it, there are so many places to put your scarce ad dollars now and so many competing claims as to what really works that there is widespread confusion in the marketplace,” Sciulla says. “Our goal is to shed some light on the various marketing options and provide some insightful information so that marine marketers and advertisers can better analyze the opportunities and ultimately make better informed decisions for their limited media investment.”
Also on the agenda is a 2009 association summary, including the official launch of the association’s pro bono “Marketing to Women” creative showcase. In addition, a new slate of officers and board members will be introduced and plans for the future announced. There is no charge for program attendance. The event will be held in Room B121-122 at the Miami Beach Convention Center and is co-sponsored by the National Marine Manufacturers Association.
