The U.S. Maritime Coalition took its Congressional “Sail-In” to Capitol Hill on May 4, with hundreds of individuals from across the country and from all segments of the American maritime industry coming to Washington for the event. Sail-In was established to increase Congressional awareness of the importance of America’s maritime industry to the economic and national security of the United States.

The program seeks to generate support for the programs and policies important to the survival and growth of the U.S.-flag merchant marine and to the jobs of American merchant mariners and America’s maritime workforce.
