Registration for the American Boating Congress is now open and spaces are rapidly filling. Registration began just after the addition of two more event cohosts, the National Marine Bankers Association and the Michigan Boating Industries Association, bringing the total to 11.

Committed cohosts to date include the National Marine Manufacturers Association, the Marine Retailers Association of the Americas, the Center for Coastal Conservation, the South Carolina Marine Association, the National Marine Distributors Association, the Sea Scouts BSA, the Boating Trades Association of Metropolitan Houston, the U.S. Superyacht Association and the Association of Marina Industries. These industry groups will strengthen the collective advocacy during ABC being held in Washington, D.C. April 24–25, 2012.

ABC is a legislative conference for the recreational boating industry. The 2012 agenda includes a variety of speakers, invited to discuss an array of urgent policy and legislative issues affecting the recreational boating industry. Policymakers, advocates and stakeholders will be on hand to respond to industry specific issues.

NMMA President Thom Dammrich says “NMMA is delighted at the industry’s response to ABC as the number of cohosts grows, supporting the commitment to an even greater voice of advocacy for the industry. This year’s event stands to become a far-reaching opportunity for partnership and growth throughout all facets of the recreational boating industry.”

ABC’s legislative conference brings industry leaders together to help influence public policy and present a unified front on issues that impact the recreational boating industry. ABC offers attendees an opportunity to discuss and learn about state and federal legislation, get first-hand insight from policymakers and network with other industry leaders.
