On May 4, the Tûranor PlanetSolar sailed into Monaco, finishing its 19-month journey around the world and becoming the first boat to make the trek powered only by solar energy. The vessel’s durable, lightweight structure features 537 square meters of solar panels, making the PlanetSolar the largest solar ship in the world. The vessel was designed by LOMOcean Design and built by Knierim Yachtbau.
