Larson Electronics has added the LEDL-160W LED boat light to its website. The light combines 20,500 lumens and advanced optics to project more light than a 1,000-watt halogen, while drawing 85 percent fewer amps on a low-voltage circuit. The new light signals the end of the 1,000-watt halogen light common on larger vessels. Drawing only 14 amps instead of 84 amps on a 12-volt circuit, the LEDL-160W offers a longer life, cooler operating temperature, lower wire gauge requirements and longer battery life. The “instant-on” light also features an optics design that enables the light to punch into the darkness while minimizing casting.
