Taking note of the public’s increasing awareness to the dangerous, potentially skin-cancer causing effects of the sun, Marlen Textiles has had its entire line of products reviewed for UPF protection under the American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists’ AATCC 183 testing protocol. After testing, all products were certified as having an Ultraviolet Protection Factor of 50+, the highest achievable rating. Specifically, Top Gun, Top Gun 9, Top Gun 15, Top Gun FR, Top Notch, Top Notch 9, Top Notch 15, Top Notch FR, Odyssey and Odyssey FR all carry the 50+ ratings.

“All our products, including those used in the marine and awning industries, will now provide maximum protection against the sun’s damaging rays,” said Alan Prelutsky, executive vice present of Marlen Textiles.

Marlen Textiles manufactures several proprietary coated, solution-dyed and laminated fabric products for use in the marine, awning, tent, outdoor, glove, safety, industrial, medical and military markets. The products are treated to be resistant to water, mildew, rot, abrasion and fire. The company also offers custom coating, toll coating and custom laminate.
