Marine electronics maker Furuno has introduced the BBWX3 SiriusXM Marine Weather Receiver. Using SiriusXM’s subscription-based marine weather service, Furuno’s new receiver offers live, up-to-date weather forecast information.

The Camas, Wash.-based Furuno’s BBWX3 connects to NavNet 3D, TZtouch or TZtouch2 networks with a ethernet cable. Users will be able to view premium weather content on the NavNet screen, including current weather reports; NOWRad radar images; high-resolution sea surface temperatures, marine forecasts; storm tracking; buoy reports; wave height forecasts, and more. On NavNet 3D, this information is overlaid directly onto charts; with NavNet TZtouch or TZtouch2, the information is available on dedicated weather displays. (For existing NavNet 3D or TZtouch systems already in the field, a software update is required to access the BBWX3 features.)
