The House of Representatives passed a two-year Coast Guard authorization bill aiming to align its leadership structure with that of the military branches in an effort to improve coordination among the services.

The measure was passed by voice vote and gives the Coast Guard’s vice commandants the grade of admiral and bumps up their pay allowances.

Language in the bill supports the recreational industry’s model year and engine weight updates.
