Total U.S. boat registrations declined 1.7 percent in 2014 to 11.8 million boats. Registrations in the top 10 states totaled 6.2 million and accounted for 52.2 percent of total boat registrations.

The National Marine Manufacturers Association website has available data on 2014 U.S. boat registrations in the form of a summary report and raw data. The data includes boat registrations and documented vessels by state, size, propulsion, and type, including cross-analysis with new boat sales, population size, household income and other parameters.
