On Wednesday, the Miami-Dade County Circuit Court dismissed a lawsuit filed by the Village of Key Biscayne against the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA). The lawsuit attempted to block the Miami International Boat Show, demanding that NMMA provide its records related to a license agreement between NMMA and the city of Miami. The judge noted that “since the Village does not show that NMMA is the city’s agent, and thus subject to Florida Public Records Act, the [NMMA’s] motion [to dismiss] is granted.”
