Walmart has awarded $3 million in U.S. Manufacturing Innovation Fund grants to six universities. The schools will split the grant money to work on a variety of projects involving innovations in domestic textile manufacturing. It is the third and final round of grants for the fund, which has provided a total of $10 million since 2014 towards making U.S. consumer goods manufacturing more feasible, sustainable and competitive. Recipients include Washington State University, North Carolina State University, Clemson University, Oregon State University, Texas Tech and the University of Massachusetts Lowell.
