Boatbuilder Chris-Craft announced it broke ground on a new 80,000 square-foot factory expansion project in Sarasota, Fla., to allow the company to increase production capabilities to meet its growing market demands.
The expansion project is set to transform a 6-acre brownfield lot into an additional manufacturing building adjacent to Chris-Craft’s current factory. The existing facility is set on 20 acres and employs more than 300 engineers, craftspeople and skilled workers. The expansion will allow the boatbuilder to expand its model offerings and create additional jobs within the region.
The completion of the expansion is slated for September 2022. The company says the expansion will add 200 employees, and there are currently more than 20 open positions for various manufacturing roles at the company.
