Marine fabricators wanting to get started in the digital world can take advantage of a half-priced pre-conference Technology Workshop for Beginners that will take place the day before the MFA Conference in New Orleans on Jan. 25, 2023, from 9 am-3 pm. The Beginner Technology Workshop will be a hands-on seminar with participants working on their own laptops. The workshop will take a simple project from start to finish.

This is an entry-level class based primarily on 2D CAD and digitizing patterns. Participants will first create patterns and then digitize these patterns with software like Photomodeler or a Proliner device. The class will also discuss how to manipulate that data in a CAD software package like Rhino, and the cost includes lunch.

The class instructors are:

  • Adam Penner, owner of AP Consulting and Technical Services and an Authorized Rhino Trainer.
  • Jeff Newkirk, MFC, owner of Precision Custom Canvas in St. Catharines, Ontario.

This workshop requires a separate registration. It is not part of the MFA conference registration. To receive 50% off the cost of the Beginner Technology Workshop, use code MFC23NY50. The discount ends Jan. 1, 2023. To register or for more information, click here.
