The 52nd annual Newport International Boat Show presented by BankNewport will include a wide variety of educational activities for attendees and boating enthusiasts. This year’s show will take place Sep. 14-17, 2023, at the Newport Yachting Center in downtown Newport, R.I.

New educational offerings will include a series of educational and interactive seminars as part of the “Take the Helm” seminars taking place over three days designed to enhance boating knowledge and skills sponsored by Cruising World. Series topics will include Safety at Sea, Changing Gears: From Sail to Power, Dogs & Boats, The Liveaboard Life, Offshore Cruising Essentials, and many more.

There will also be hands-on technical training courses offered to boaters of all experience levels at IYRS School of Technology and Trades. These fully immersive, half-day courses include Five Things Every Boat Owner Should Know How to Do on Their Diesel Engine and Electrical Systems and Troubleshooting. Also new this year is a three-hour seminar “How to Become a Multihull Owner and Cruiser”, and the Narraganset Sailing School will offer on-the-water classes intended to inspire confidence and promote safety when sailing.
