Port Tampa Bay is building a mentorship program for the maritime industry, looking for companies and schools willing to partner with them.

The program is open to businesses in Hillsborough, Pinellas and Pasco counties in Florida. It was initially promoted at the first annual Maritime Expo, where Port Tampa Bay and the Propeller Club – Port of Tampa welcomed approximately 800 students from these three counties.

Port Tampa Bay is designing the mentorship program to connect schools and local companies to place a further emphasis on the different pathways within the maritime industry, as well as introduce the opportunity of classroom speakers. The program is just getting off the ground, and Port Tampa Bay is looking for business partners to establish a mentorship foundation.

The program is open to all types of companies, including marine fabrication. Interested parties should email Lesley Valdez for more information.
