Call for judges in 2027 MFA Fabrication Excellence Awards
The Marine Fabricators Association (MFA) is inviting members to become a judge in the 2027 MFA Fabrication Excellence Awards.
The Fabrication Excellence Awards contest is designed to recognize excellence in marine fabrication. The entries are judged by a panel of certified marine professionals, and Awards of Excellence and Outstanding Achievement Awards are given in each category.
The judges’ panel is comprised of industry experts including architects, designers, industry leaders and fabricators. Judges rate projects on complexity, workmanship, function, design and uniqueness. Judging is anonymous — company information is not given to the judges. Fabricators who submit their own projects are still qualified to be a judge.
To become a judge, members must meet the following criteria:
- Attend at least two MFA events within the last 10 years
- Earn their Master Fabric Craftsman certification
- Be an MFA member for more than five years
- Be an end-product fabricator (suppliers are not eligible to become judges)
Interested fabricators should fill out the form by Aug. 7. Contact member programs supervisor Tara Houston with any questions.
