Rigid enclosure provides unobstructed views
Recovery Room, Panama City Beach, Fla.
This project, which won an Outstanding Achievement Award in the rigid enclosures category of the 2008 MFA Awards, involved a rigid enclosure for a new boat. Costa Track was installed on the hard top on the bridge and aft deck, and on the windshield. On the aft deck, Recovery Room installed flat flange PVC track. Makralon polycarbonate was used for the rigid part and Strataglass was used in the curtains where u-zippers are installed for ventilation. The boat dealer wanted the aft corners to have unobstructed views. When installing the Costa Track on the windshield, Recovery Room had to drill and tap the aluminum. Tef-Gel was placed on the threads of each screw to prevent corrosion.
