This project, which won an Outstanding Achievement Award in the tops 27 feet and up category of the 2009 MFA Awards, featured an affordable, retractable, sturdy, cockpit sunshade large enough for adequate protection, but easily retracted and out of the way when not needed. The slide track and carriers make it easy for one person to operate. The canvas has release zippers at the front track that allow easy access to rods above. The main frame has a double crown for added height and drainage, plus a crowned mid-bow attached with stainless steel tees. The obstructions on the hardtop in the way of attachment and retracting were a nightmare, but the top looks like a dream.
