Ten marine companies were cited in February for innovative achievement by the NMMA and the Boating Writers International (BWI) at the 72nd annual Progressive Insurance Miami International Boat Show & Strictly Sail. Eight products took home 2013 Innovation Awards and two others received honorable mentions.

The awards, organized by NMMA and judged by BWI, recognize products that best meet the following criteria: innovative distinction from other products currently being manufactured; benefit to the marine industry and/or consumer; practicality; cost-effectiveness; and availability to the consumer within 60 days of award receipt.

Award winners were Raymarine, SmartPlug Systems, Boat Outfitters, Harris FloteBote, Sea Ray, Torqeedo, Yamaha WaterCraft, Boston Whaler; honorable mentions went to Navico and Belzona.
