The American Boat & Yacht Council and the
National Marine Manufacturers Association South Carolina have joined forces to present ABYC certification
courses in Charleston, S.C.

The first course will be ABYC Marine Electrical Certification on September
9-12. The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources will host the
class at its Marine Resources & Research Institute classroom. The course
is intended for those with a minimum of three to five years practical
experience in the field of marine electrical design, service or
installation. ABYC will send applicants the study material in advance of
the course.

“This is a great opportunity for our South Carolina members to send their
staff to ABYC certification courses,” explained Suzi DuRant, NMMA SC’s
Executive Director. “In the past, companies have incurred added expense by
having to send their employees out of state. NMMA SC members will receive
a special discount on the registration fee. We hope to offer the Marine
Diesel Certification course in November and more are in the planning
stages.”
