The sails are made of Dyneema SK78 high-modulus polyethylene fiber, and were developed to provide dimensional stability, reduce sailcloth weight and increase strength for shape retention. The sails were used by sailors Marc Emig and Bertrand de Broc during a race from Le Havre, France to Salvador de Bahia, Brazil.
